IN A FEW DECADES SEA GLASS MAY NOT EXIST AT ALL. Today sea glass is more scarce and can be harder to find due to plastic bottles and restrictions on ocean dumping (which is a good thing).

FAKE VS REAL SEA GLASS
To tell the difference look for sea glass that’s not perfect. Color varies in the natural pieces and there are imperfections. Glass that’s been tumbled in a machine doesn’t vary as much in color shape and thickness. Depending on your project you may want to consider using machine tumbled sea glass. I use a combination in my work.

THIS IS MACHINE TUMBLED SEA GLASS
I live on the beach in Kent Island, Maryland and find a lot of sea glass on the beaches. BUT only a very small amount of any colors other than white, brown and green. In my search for blue sea glass I ordered machine tumbled sea glass from a few places online and it was absolute CRAP. Now, don't misunderstand me because I'm sure there is plenty of nice tumbled sea glass out there! Now I tumble my own and it is gorgeous!

These beautiful pieces are a mix of white, Caribbean Blue, light green, light blue, cobalt blue and a few light teal. Most of the pieces are perfect and they all look stunning! If you're looking for sea glass for a project this is your solution!
